Bailey Named Principal of Joan Austin Elementary
Out of an excellent pool of candidates, Jennifer Bailey has been selected as the Principal of Joan Austin Elementary School for the 2019-2020 school year. With 24 years experience in education, and ten of those years as a building administrator, Bailey brings with her a solid track record of improving achievement for all students and increasing social emotional supports and intervention strategies in an elementary school setting.
“Jen brings the right balance of experience, skills, and relational ability for our students and staff at Joan Austin,” said Superintendent Dr. Joe Morelock. “We feel very confident she’ll bring leadership that continues to build on Joan Austin’s strengths.”
Bailey most recently served as Principal of Greenway Elementary School in Beaverton, Oregon. Additionally, she’s served as an administrator of elementary, middle, and high schools in the West Linn-Wilsonville School District. “My passion lies at the elementary level, working with staff, students, and parents,” said Bailey. “I’m inspired to work with elementary students because of their enthusiasm for learning, their challenges, and their growth toward building their identities.”
Bailey will begin getting to know staff and parents this week as she prepares for the upcoming school year.
