The Chehalem Valley Chamber of Commerce selected the Newberg Booster Club, a nonprofit organization that supports and promotes academic, athletic and extracurricular programs at Newberg High School, as the Volunteer Organization of the Year. The Booster Club was honored at the community annual awards banquet on March 22, 2013.
The group, which is made up of parents and community members, recently raised more than $500,000 for a new turf field, scoreboard and sound system for the school’s athletic facilities.
