This morning an electrical transformer a few blocks from Mabel Rush Elementary went out, disrupting power to Mabel Rush, Newberg High School, and Mountain View Middle School. The power outage may have contributed to an issue with an air handler motor at Mabel Rush. There was no flame, but smoke was emitted from a motor. The fire department responded and dealt with the issue, and is in the process of making sure the building is safe and clear.
