Busch leaving for new school principal position
Just like the Mountain View Middle School eighth grade students, Assistant Principal Dan Busch will be moving on to a different school next year.
Busch, who is in tenth year as assistant principal, announced to students and staff that he will be moving on to Fowler Middle School as the new principal beginning July 1st. Fowler is one of three middle schools in the Tigard-Tualatin School District.
“Dan will be sorely missed,” said Mountain View Principal Wayne Strong. He credits Busch with dramatically improving the school climate through the Positive Behavior Intervention program Busch started. Strong points out that the improved school climate lead the way for significant improvement in student academic performance and greater parent involvement.
Busch is a 2007 recipient of the district's Crystal Apple Award for Outstadning Administrator.
“Mountain View students, staff and parents have prepared me well for this new challenge,” said Busch.
Busch says that while he’s excited about the new leadership opportunity, he will still have an important connection to the 560-student Newberg middle school.
“My children will still attend school in Newberg and I’ll still be a Mountain View parent.”
