Calling All Student Artists and Creative Families!
The Chalk Art Contest, in partnership with the Newberg Old Fashioned Festival, kicks off next week.
How do you participate?
- Starting on July 26, you can stop by the Chehalem Cultural Center (CCC) to get a free bag of chalk.
- Create a piece of art on the sidewalks of Newberg in one of the permitted locations. Find permitted places to create your chalk art using this map.
- If you feel awkward hitting the pavement as a lone creative person, join the Chalk Art Party from 2 to 4 p.m. July 27 on the CCC forecourt (the paving stones at the front).
- Remember to post a photo of your creation on Facebook or Instagram and tag @ChehalemCulturalCenter in the post by July 30.
What do you get for participating?
- Participants are entered into a drawing to win a $50 CCC gift card.
- If you don’t want to participate in the contest, there’s no need, drawing is free and fun!
The annual Chalk Art Contest is part of the Newberg Old Fashioned Festival, which will run from July 27 to 30: newbergoldfashionedfestival.org.
