Carolyn DeCrevel Court to be dedicated January 21st

The basketball court at Newberg High School will be named "Carolyn DeCrevel Court" after legendary Newberg High School PE teacher, Carolyn DeCrevel.

Community members are invited to a reception honoring Carolyn at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, January 21st in the NHS Commons. “Carolyn DeCrevel Court” will be dedicated during a half-time ceremony later that evening at the boy's basketball game against McMinnville. Tip-off is at 7:15 p.m. in McGrath Gymnasium at Newberg High School, 2400 Douglas Avenue, Newberg.

Carolyn retired in 2003 after a 42-year career at NHS, where she is credited for starting the women's athletic program at the high school. She is known for her ability to connect with students and her positive influence on individual's success. Carolyn continues to advise the women’s cheerleading program and make a difference for students.

The Newberg School Board approved naming the court in McGrath Gymnasium after Carolyn at the January 11th meeting.
