Celebrating Springbrook Education Center
Community members, Catalyst and school staff and school board members strolled through Newberg's newly opened Springbrook Education Center Thursday night. Catalyst program administrator Bill Rogers welcomed the crowd gathered to dedicate the new building and expressed his appreciation to the community for their support and generosity. Superintendent Kym LeBlanc-Esparza described the new education center as a bridge to the next phase of life for students, connecting them to community, workforce and lifelong learning. School board vice chairwoman Polly Peterson thanked the community for valuing every learner, calling the Springbrook Education Center a gift to students and education.
The Springbrook Education Center was part of $27.1 million bond package that included facility maintenance, energy and security upgrades, classroom construction, materials and equipment. BOORA Architect, Portland, designed the 150-student school and P & C Construction, Portland, was the general contractor.
