Alaina Carter, principal at Joan Austin Elementary School, has accepted the position of District Literacy K-6 and Title I Coordinator in the Forest Grove School District Office.

"I’m very thankful that the Joan Austin community has embraced me as they have,” said Carter. “I’ve thoroughly enjoyed serving as principal. Students and staff will hold a special place in my heart. I’m confident that the great work we’ve begun will move forward with a new leader. I’m looking forward to a role that lets me expand my work with elementary literacy.”

Carter has provided excellent service as principal of Joan Austin Elementary and as Assistant Principal at Newberg High School during her time in the Newberg School District. The district will begin a search for her replacement at Joan Austin immediately.

Alaina Carter, directora de la Escuela Primaria Joan Austin, ha aceptado el puesto de Coordinadora Alfabetismo del Título K-6 y Título I del Distrito en la Oficina del Distrito Escolar de Forest Grove.

"Estoy muy agradecida que la comunidad de Joan Austin me haya recibido como lo ha hecho", dijo Carter. "Disfruté muchísimo como directora. Los estudiantes y el personal tendrán un lugar especial en mi corazón. Confío en que el gran trabajo que hemos comenzado continuará con un nuevo líder. Estoy esperando desempeñar un papel que me permita ampliar mi trabajo con la alfabetización a nivel primaria".

La Sra. Carter ha brindado un excelente servicio como directora de la Primaria Joan Austin y como subdirectora de la preparatoria de Newberg (Newberg High School ) durante su estancia en el distrito escolar de Newberg. El distrito comenzará la búsqueda de su reemplazo en la escuela Joan Austin inmediatamente.
