District Administration statement on Oct. 12, 2021 School Board Meeting

At the October 12th School Board meeting, many heard someone who gave public comment use a derogatory slur about a student who had previously spoken. The person had left their microphone unmuted after giving their comment, and the recording does appear to confirm the use of the slur. We condemn that language and apologize to the student, and to all who heard it. Newberg Public Schools believe in the worth and value of every single one of our students, and oppose hateful language in the strongest possible terms.
