Do you know an outstanding student?

The Newberg community is ready to recognize outstanding students and is looking to parents and educators for nominations.

A student who has made an outstanding contribution to the community will be recognized as the Junior Citizen of the Year by the Chehalem Valley Chamber of Commerce. The nominee’s achievement should be something that contributes to the betterment of the community, sets an example or encourages participation of others. Nominations are open for students in grades 8-12 and must be received by the Chamber of Commerce by February 19.  Please use the nomination form below.

The Newberg Graphic and its partner newspapers are seeking submissions to the 2016 Amazing Kids contest. If you know of an exceptional young person, submit a brief description of why your nominee is so amazing along with contact information for both the nominator and the nominee. Nominees should be under 18. One student will be selected to represent the Newberg, Dundee and St. Paul area. Twenty-five “Great Kids” will be honored at a gala event hosted by Pamplin Media Group and be featured in a special newspaper section in April.  Send submissions for kids from Newberg, Dundee or St. Paul to gallen@newberggraphic.com by February 29th.
