Enrollment projections show continued growth
Newberg and Dundee are projected to grow in the next decade and school enrollment will follow suit. According to a school enrollment study by Information Management Systems:
- Elementary enrollment will increase by 19% by 2016 (542 students)
- Middle schools are projected to increase by 28% by 2020 (479 students)
- High school enrollment is projected to increase 20% by 2020 (388 students)
Currently the district’s two middle schools are full and must rely on portable classrooms to house students. Elementary schools, while 80% occupied, are using all available space to hold special programs such as intensive reading programs, ELL and music classes.
