First Day of School Communication
School begins in less than three weeks, and we continue to plan for full time, in-person learning for all our students who have not enrolled in Chehalem Online Academy (COA). Governor Brown has issued a mask mandate not only for K-12 schools, but for all indoor spaces, which our schools will follow. We are following the increase in COVID cases carefully, and are exploring options for families who are re-considering COA.
Last spring, the School Board approved changing start times for this coming school year. The normal schedule will be:
Elementary Schools— 8:00 am – 2:40 pm
Middle and High Schools— 8:45 am – 3:40 pm
We will continue to have Late Start Wednesday. This gives valuable time to our staff to collaborate and plan, as they look at specific data for each student to meet each student’s need. Late start Wednesday schedule will be:
Elementary— 9:00 am – 2:40 pm
Secondary— 9:45 am – 3:40 pm
The first day of school for all elementary students, for 6th and 7th graders, for 9th and 10th graders at NHS, and for ALL Catalyst students will be Wednesday, September 8, 2021. It will NOT be a Late Start Wednesday. Elementary students will begin at 8:00 am, and Middle and High School students will begin at 8:45 am.
The first day of school for 8th grade students, and for 11th and 12th grade students at NHS, will be Thursday, September 9, 2021.
We will have more information for you about many things in the weeks ahead. We look forward to seeing students!

Secundaria: 9:45 a. M. - 3:40 p. M.
