Free Summer Meals for Children Are Here!
The 2023 Summer Food Service Program began Monday, June 26.
The program continues through Aug 18 and is available from Monday to Friday. Meals will not be served on July 3 or July 4 because of the Fourth of July holiday.
The meal locations and serving times from Monday to Friday will be:
- Edwards Elementary School, 715 E Eighth Street: 11:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
- Newberg Public Library, 503 E Hancock Street: 11:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
- Memorial Park, S Blaine Street: 12:00 p.m. to 12:30 p.m.
- Mabel Rush Elementary School, 1441 Deborah Road: Breakfast: 9:00 to 9:30 a.m. and Lunch: 11:15 a.m. to 11:45 a.m.
The meals are free to all children ages 1 to 18. No application is necessary.
Please review the following rules:
- Only one meal per child is permitted.
- There will be no grab-and-go meals.
- All meals must be consumed on-site; a child may take a single item home with them.
The Summer Food Service Program is an extension of the National School Lunch Program. The program is funded by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), and it is administered by the State of Oregon-Child Nutrition Program and Newberg Public Schools.

Las Comidas Gratuitas de Verano para Niños ya CEstán Aquí
El Programa de Servicio de Alimentos de Verano 2023, que ofrece comidas gratuitas a los niños, comenzó el lunes 26 de junio. Siga leyendo para conocer las fechas, las reglas de la escuela o de la localidad, así como la elegibilidad para el programa.
El programa se ofrecerá hasta el 18 de agosto y se llevará a cabo de lunes a viernes. No se servirán comidas el 3 o 4 de julio debido a que el Cuatro de Julio es un día feriado.
Las localidades donde se servirán las comidas y los horarios de servicio de lunes a viernes serán:
- Escuela Primaria Edwards, 715 E Eighth Street: 11:00 a.m. a 11:30 a.m.
- Biblioteca Pública de Newberg, 503 E Hancock Street: 11:45 a.m. a 12:15 p.m.
- Memorial Park, S Blaine Street: 12:00 p.m. a las 12:30
- Escuela Primaria Mabel Rush, 1441 Deborah Road: Desayuno: 9:00 a.m. a 9:30 a.m. y almuerzo: 11:15 a.m. a 11:45 a.m.
Las comidas están disponibles sin cargo para todos los niños de 1 a 18 años de edad. No se requiere llenar una solicitud.
Por favor revise las siguientes reglas:
- Solo se permitirá una comida por niño(a).
- No habrá alimentos disponibles para llevar.
- Todas las comidas deben consumirse en el sitio; un niño podrá llevarse un solo artículo de su almuerzo a casa.
El Programa de Servicio de Alimentos de Verano es una extensión del Programa Nacional de Almuerzos Escolares (National School Lunch Program). El programa está financiado por el Departamento de Agricultura de los Estados Unidos (USDA) y es administrado por el Programa de Nutrición Infantil del Estado de Oregon (State of Oregon-Child Nutrition Program) y las Escuelas Públicas de Newberg.
