Hoping this generous donation won't be used!
Newberg middle school principals each received 40 emergency kits filled with items to sustain a classroom during an emergency such as a lengthy lockdown or an earthquake. It's a generous donation from the Newberg Noon Rotary Club and Love Inc. that each school hopes they never need to use.
The emergency kits are an extension of small individual emergency kits assembled for elementary students last fall. Love Inc. coordinated volunteers to assemble the kits and found donors to supply the items in the kit.
The middle school emergency kits contain mini water bottles, suckers or hard candies, emergency (space) blankets, a hand-crank flashlight/radio, first aid kit and a roll of duct tape.
