Lesley Carsley to return as interim princial

Newberg Oregon School District

A leadership change at Dundee Elementary returns Lesley Carsley to the principal’s office as an interim principal for the 2012-13 school year.

Carsley, who recently celebrated her retirement, had offered to assist school district administrators on an as-needed basis. An unsuccessful search for an elementary school principal late in the school year prompted in-coming superintendent, Kym LeBlanc-Esparza, to call on Carsley’s offer of assistance.

Carsley spent 11 years early in her career as a first and fifth grade teacher at Dundee Elementary. She served as principal for eight years at Edwards Elementary and seven years at Joan Austin Elementary School. Carsley received the district’s Crystal Apple Award for Outstanding Administrator in 2009.

A search for a permanent administrator at Dundee will be conducted in early 2013.
