Lorenzen Named Temporary Assistant Principal at Chehalem Valley Middle School
With Casey Petrie appointed as Acting Principal of Chehalem Valley Middle School for the 2019-2020 school year, the District opened a one year temporary Assistant Principal position. Roger Lorenzen, with 31 years of experience as an administrator, has been hired to serve in this role.
“I am excited to be able to bring Roger on board,” said Petrie. “I have worked with him for several years through partnerships with Stanford University’s D:School and Innovate Dayton. He brings a calm stability and willingness to support students, families and staff that will enhance the work taking place at CV this year.”
Lorenzen has lived locally for most of his life, serving variously as a teacher, coach, principal, assistant principal, and athletic director at the high school and junior high school levels in Dayton and Amity. “I’m excited about the opportunity to join the Newberg School District,” said Lorenzen. “I feel the mindset and heart I will bring to Chehalem Valley Middle School are aligned with what the students, staff, and administrative team are looking for as we courageously move into this school year.”
