Mabel Rush, COLA students shine in "If I were Mayor" contest
The Newberg City Council and Mayor Bob Andrews recognized the winners of the 2016 "If I Were Mayor" Contest at the May 2 City Council meeting.
Mayor Andrews presented the top three winners with an award certificate, gift card to Chapters Books and gift certificates to the Chehalem Paddle Launch.
Alyssa Resendiz from Mabel Rush Elementary placed first in the poster contest. Her winning submission will be forwarded onto the State level of the competition. Winners selected at the next level have an opportunity to win an iPad Air 2.
Athena Bourne from Chehalem Online Learning Alliance placed second and Cameron Kelly from Mabel Rush Elementary placed third.
