Mark Brown National Staffulty Member of the Month
Newberg Senior High School is proud to announce that Mark Brown, Assistant Principal, is the recipient of the Jostens Renaissance National Staffulty Member of the Month Award for June 2020. The Jostens Renaissance National Staffulty Member of the Month recognition is for a deserving staff or faculty member who has made an impact within their school or community through Jostens Renaissance.
Jostens Renaissance is a program that focuses on recognizing students and staff. The core of the program revolves around the five R’s: what you Respect, Reward, Recognize, and Reinforce = Results.
Mr. Brown was selected based on his exceptional dedication and commitment to the values of Newberg Senior School and Jostens Renaissance. He has led the efforts to ensure that the climate and culture within the building is focused around the success of all students and staff. As fellow educator Melissa Wright stated in her nomination letter, “Mark Brown is not at my school, however his positivity and creativity can be felt across the US and Canada. Since the pandemic started, Mark has taken any idea he can and run with it. He has been instrumental in moving his district forward, and I feel that this is due to the hard work and contributions that Mark brings as an Assistant Principal and leader within his school and district. He is making sure his staff feel appreciated by organizing a drive thru pick up of gifts for staff, and that grads are recognized by organizing a virtual prom and parades complete with a unique grad cap toss at the end. His ideas and energy are contagious!
Principal Tami Erion adds, "There is no more deserving educator for this recognition than Mark Brown. Mark has been a tremendous asset to our administrative team and has risen to the challenge of focusing his time and energy on building a positive school culture at NHS. He embraces the belief that our Culture of Care is just as important as our Culture of Learning. He is a servant leader who brings his unique strengths to NHS to make the experiences of students, staff and parents more meaningful and rewarding. We are incredibly proud of Mark and his recognition as an outstanding educator!"
Mr. Brown is being showcased in the national Jostens Renaissance newsletter and on the website and will receive several items of recognition.
