Mask Requirements in Schools
February 7, 2022
Today the Oregon Health Authority announced a decision to move toward removing general mask requirements for indoor public places no later than March 31. They will monitor COVID case counts and hospitalization numbers to determine if it will be earlier. The deadline for K-12 schools is, however, definitely set for March 31 and no earlier. This is because schools have medically fragile and immunocompromised students and staff, and individual plans must be developed to ensure safety.
To be clear: masks are still required indoors in our schools until March 31. No student or staff will be allowed for in-person learning without a mask.
