A Message from Superintendent Dr. Kym LeBlanc-Esparza

March 20, 2018

Dear Families and Community,

As I shared back in February, with the birth of my grandson and his health challenges, I have made the decision to return home to Colorado to support family.

I want to communicate directly with you all my intent tonight to resign my position as the Superintendent of the Newberg School District effective June 30, 2018.  I appreciate that the Board intends to roll my contract forward to a typical 3-year contract, reflecting my performance over the past year.  However, I will ask the Board not to roll my contract forward at tonight’s meeting, so members have the opportunity to move forward in making leadership decisions to support the district.  There is important work to be done and I am committed to working alongside District leadership and the Board in tackling the challenges ahead.

I am incredibly proud of the work we have done here in Newberg I am confident that our leadership, staff, and families will continue to work together to provide students an education that prepares them for college, career and life.  Thank you.

Respectfully,

Dr. Kym LeBlanc-Esparza

Superintendent
