MR principal announces retirement
Mabel Rush Elementary School principal Shannon Stueckle announced plans to retire at the end of this school year. Stueckle’s long successful career in the Newberg School District includes serving as principal at Dundee as well as Mabel Rush Elementary, and as an assistant principal at the former Renne Middle School (now Mountain View.) Prior to joining the district in 1992, Stueckle worked as a school counselor in the Reynolds School District and a social studies teacher at Churchill High School in Eugene.
“Shannon is dynamic, creative, energetic, kid-centered and someone who has outstanding instructional knowledge,” said Superintendent Kym LeBlanc-Esparza. “She has had a tremendous impact on so many students, staff and parents within our community. We will definitely miss her presence and leadership.”
Stueckle plans to focus her attention on family. The process to select her replacement has begun and is expected to be complete later this month.
