New Board Secretary
Newberg Public Schools is pleased to announce the hiring of Jenn Nelson to the part time position of School Board Secretary. Nelson is currently serving as a Special Education Assistant at Crater Elementary School, and will transition to the half time Board Secretary position when her position is filled at Crater.
“Before working at Crater, Jenn served as City Recorder in Carlton and Deputy City Recorder in Newberg,” said Superintendent Joe Morelock. “She is already part of the NPS team, she has a wide range of experience in board and council government operations and policy. We couldn’t have asked for a better person for this role!”
Gregg Koskela has been filling two roles at NPS, as both the district-wide communications coordinator, and Board Secretary. With the passage of a $141 million construction bond last November, there are increased needs for communication about the progress of the bond projects as well as coordination of the district’s planning efforts so our construction projects are delivered on time and on budget.
Gregg Koskela will take on those coordination and communication duties, releasing School Board Secretary responsibilities to Jennifer Nelson. Koskela’s new title will be Communications Coordinator and Bond Manager, partially funded by Bond funds, keeping district staff at the same level in the general fund budget.
