Newberg Public Schools Hires New Director of Finance
Newberg Public Schools is pleased to announce the hiring of Nikki Fowler as the new Director of Finance. This position was made available when current Director of Finance Ilean Clute accepted a position to return home to the Forest Grove School District.
Ms. Fowler has more than 20 years experience in accounting in Oregon public schools. For 13 of those years, she has been at the director level overseeing the entire business office. She has most recently served the Knappa School District in Astoria for 9 years as Deputy Clerk and Business Manager, overseeing not only the business office, but also directing human resources, transportation, food services, operations, and serving on the negotiations team. Her breadth of experience, leadership, and knowledge will be a huge asset to Newberg Public Schools.
“I am excited to join the team at Newberg School District and look forward to meeting staff and students as I take on this new endeavor,” said Ms. Fowler.
“Nikki comes highly recommended from both her current and former superintendents,” said Dr. Joe Morelock, Interim Superintendent. “She has a wide range of experience in both finance and district operations; we know she’ll be a great asset to our Newberg team.”
Ms. Fowler will start in a few weeks, working toward a smooth transition for both the Knappa School District and Newberg Public Schools. She received a BS in Business Administration with a concentration in Leadership, Organization, and Management, as well as earning a Certificate in Public Management from the graduate program at Willamette University.
