Getting the kids ready for kindergarten
The Newberg School District is offering “Kindergarten Jump Start” from 8:30 to 11:45 a.m. Aug. 22-25.
The weeklong learning experience will help incoming kindergarten students and their parents prepare for the school year.
The program is open to all incoming students who are registered for kindergarten and will be held at each Newberg elementary school. Jump Start helps familiarize children with their new school, kindergarten teachers and classmates by following an abbreviated daily schedule with typical kindergarten classroom activities, a tour of the school campus and recess.
To register for kindergarten, visit your neighborhood elementary school. To enroll your child in Jump Start, call Zoraida Anaya at 503-554-5100.
For more information, call special programs coordinator Kristina Sheppard at 503-554-4727 or email her at sheppardk @newberg.k12.or.us.
