In The News: NHS extends clothing and textile drive

Written by: Newberg Graphic

The Newberg High School Performing Arts Booster Club has extended its clothing and textile drive until Jan. 23, when it will host a final “stuff the truck” event at 3 p.m. at the Drea Ferguson Auditorium. The booster club has partnered with Clothes for a Cause and is accepting new and gently-used clothing, shoes (in pairs), towels, sheets, blankets, quilts, stuffed animals, curtains, drapery, purses, bags, luggage, belts, tablecloths, placemats and small rugs. The program is designed to prevent usable items from ending up in a landfill while also raising funds for new sound equipment. The drive will not accept glass, breakables, electronics, pet beds, bed pillows, carpeting, uniforms, hotel linens or items previously for sale at a thrift store. Donations should be made in plastic garbage bags. For more information about the event, email Shelley Thomas at shelleythomas61@msn.com.
