NHS art students recognized in Willamette Valley Scholastic Art Awards
Art work by five Newberg High School fine art students earned recognition in the regional Scholastic Art competition for the Willamette Valley Art Region. Images were judged by local professionals and will be exhibited in the Benton County Museum, Corvallis, from March 11- April 9, 2016. An art award ceremony will be held April 9th.
Letting Go by Chandler Everett, and Speak, by Brenden Fields, both earned Gold Key top honors and will automatically be considered ofr national recognition.
Look Up, by Elena Krupika, Fractured by Kiernen Vandedhoek, and The World by Brenden Fields, each earned Silver Key awards. These are considered stand-out works that demonstrate exceptional ability.
Jarom O'Niel, Krupika and Fields each earned honorable mentions of their works that showed great skill and potential.
Stashia Cabral is the fine arts teacher at Newberg High School.
