Newberg Public Schools has hired a new Communications and Community Relations Coordinator: Jillian Daley, an experienced professional with a love of learning, arrived on campus for her first day on Thursday, June 1. 

“Jillian successfully navigated her way through an extended and difficult interview process of more than 20 applicants,” explained Superintendent Phillips. “She is qualified, experienced, and grateful for this opportunity. We are excited to work with Jillian and look forward to a long relationship with her at NPS.”

Jillian holds 20 years of experience in communications and journalism. Her previous roles include positions with the North Marion School District in Aurora and the Portland State University (PSU) College of Education. Jillian started her career as a journalist, reporting on a wide range of beats with various newspapers, including the Lake Oswego Review and The Oregonian. 

When she’s not in the office, she can be found in Newberg’s schools working with our students and staff. She has also spent a great deal of time in the classroom as a student herself. She has earned a Master of Public Administration in Nonprofit and Public Administration, a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism, and a Bachelor of Arts in English. She regularly takes classes in ballroom and Spanish.

Besides working and learning, she revels in time invested in roaming the great outdoors or traveling to distant places. In her downtime, she can be found puttering in the garden alongside her spouse at their Southwest Portland home.
