Newberg School District

Subject:          Newberg Rotary Student Needs Fund

                          Sponsored by the Newberg Rotary (Noon) Club Foundation

Purpose:  The fund is "to provide for the basic personal needs of children in Newberg Schools to help each child toward a positive school experience."

A review of records over past years identify that the fund has provided support to economically disadvantaged students, preschool age through high school, on a need basis.  Endorsements of the program from school personnel in past years states the program has "provided children with an improved opportunity for academic success."  (The club prefers not to duplicate the major outreach of other clubs/organizations.)

Rotary will continue to support Newberg students, however, reimbursement will now be facilitated through the Newberg Rotary Foundation.  The process to request funds has been modified slightly this year.  Please contact Dave Parker prior to purchase to assure the request meets Rotary Foundation criteria and to determine if funds are available.  Once authorization has been received you may make purchase, complete a Request for Funding form and submit with receipts attached.  Mr. Parker will sign the form and forward to the Rotary Foundation for processing, you should receive reimbursement within a week.
