Sandberg named "Partner in Education"

Newberg Oregon School District

The Newberg School District has named Linda Sandberg the 2015 recipient of the “Partner in Education” award. The “Partner in Education Award” recognizes businesses and individuals who demonstrate outstanding support for public education.

Sandberg represents the Chehalem Valley Chamber Board of Directors in the school district’s work to provide workplace experiences and opportunities for students. Linda is the Chamber’s voice at the table as educators grapple with preparing students with opportunities for work place and career success.

A passionate advocate for relevant learning opportunities, Sandberg actively recruits local business people to provide subject-matter expertise, work site field trips, volunteers and mentors. She represents the Chamber on the district Career Technical Education Advisory committee. In addition, Sandberg actively supports the high school School-to-Business program as a volunteer and maintaining a database of business partners.

Newberg School Board Chairman, Todd Thomas, and Superintendent Kym LeBlanc-Esparza will present the award at the annual Chehalem Valley Chamber of Commerce Awards program on March 20, 2015.
