School Board members presented certificated of recognition to the Newberg Tiger Cheerleaders for their fourth consecutive state championship and third consecutive national championships. Coach Lisa Berg added that the cheerleaders also represent Newberg High School in community service activities at Special Olympics, Dundee Party in the Park and other community events.

The Newberg City Council is scheduled to approve a proclamation declaring May 2, 2016, as Newberg High School Varsity Cheerleading Day. Mayor Bob Andrews is forwarding the proclamation to recognize and celebrate their achievement.
