The Newberg School Board declared a vacancy in Zone 5 and is seeking applications from interested persons to fill the unexpired term through June 2017. Veteran director Jim Chogyoji announced he is resigning from his position at the end of June, 2015.

Any resident of the school district that is a registered voter, has lived in the district for one year and lives within the Zone 5 geographical area may be considered for appointment to this position.

Zone 5 is roughly bound by the Willamette River to the south, Chehalem Creek, Dayton Avenue and Main Street to the West, First Avenue to the North and S. Everest Road to the West. A map of the board zone can be viewed on the school district website.
