School leaders maintain focus on school safety

Newberg Oregon School District

Superintendent Kym LeBlanc-Esparza reassured parents and staff that the school district’s sensitivity to safe and secure schools remains focused. School principals have updated safety plans and meet this week to discuss ongoing safety procedures. School and law enforcement officials will confer later this week about response to critical incidents. LeBlanc-Esparza adds that the district is looking into security equipment such as visitor management systems and electronic doorbells at each school. In the mean time, schools continue to pay attention to visitors in our buildings and be vigilant about asking people to sign in and wear visitor badges.
