School Plans for Fall 2020
We know everyone is wondering about plans for the fall. We have been very hard at work creating the plans we will submit soon to the Oregon Health Authority, our School Board, and the Oregon Department of Education (ODE). Those plans, which follow the current guidance from ODE, are a hybrid plan with options for full distance learning for families who choose that. We will release those by the end of this week.
We know that there will be updates to the guidance from ODE and from the governor, perhaps as soon as tomorrow. Teams at each school are thoroughly working not just on these current hybrid plans, but also every contingency. Feedback from families and staff have been guiding this work. We are also watching daily the spread of the virus.
Safety for students and staff is our most important consideration, and we are doing hard work to be prepared for every contingency. We will adapt, respond, and communicate throughout the weeks ahead. We also are aware that the distance learning portions of a hybrid model and/or a full online model must be more robust than last spring, and are preparing accordingly.
Thank you for your patience as we all work through this together.
