The Newberg School Board unanimously agreed to start school September 6, 2016.  Over 1,000 parents and staff responding to an online survey expressed a strong preference to starting school after Labor Day. Superintendent Kym LeBlanc-Esparza told board members she is strongly considering preparing a multi-year calendar to allow parents and staff better information for planning vacations.

Key dates in 2016-17 are:

Sept. 6   - School starts
Oct. 6-7  - Conferences
Nov. 21-25 - Thanksgiving week
Dec. 19 - Jan. 2  -  Winter break
Feb. 23-24  -  Conferences
Mar. 27-31  - Spring break
June 20  -  Last day of school
