Schools benefit from church serve day
Four Newberg schools were the beneficiaries of Newberg Christian Church's recent serve day . Members of the congregation spread bark chips in the playgrounds of Joan Austin, Crater, and Ewing Young. Volunteers trimmed and pruned bushes at Edwards, plus painted the blacktop under the covered play area. Participants also built planter boxes for Chehalem Valley Middle School similar to those built for Joan Austin Elementary.
Newberg Christian Church, located next to Joan Austin Elementary, continues to support school families through the Friday food bag program for students to take home for the family to have food over the weekend.
