Services for high school student on December 1
Counselors at Newberg High School and Catalyst will continue to be available for students seeking support following the death of Daniel Textor last Friday, November 25, 2016. Texlor was dual enrolled at Catalyst and NHS where he was a member of the high school band.
"Danny had a passion for art and music," said Bill Rogers, Catalyst principal. He described Textor as a quiet student who loved to play the guitar and with a talent for drawing.
"Catalyst and NHS lost a valued member of our community over the holiday break" said principal Kyle Laier "We know many students are grieving the loss of their friend who took his own life." He adds that both school communities are prepared to support students this week.
Services for Daniel will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, December 1, 2016 at Newberg Christian Church, 2315 Villa Rd., Newberg.
Resources for parents linked below from National Institute of Mental Health, CDC, Oregon Health Authority and the Mayo Clinic include suicide awareness, risk factors, action steps and fact sheets.
