Tarmichael is Newberg's Junior Citizen
The Chehalem Valley Chamber of Commerce named Newberg High School senior Megan Tarmichael Newberg’s Junior Citizen of the Year at the community awards banquet on Friday, March 18th. Tarmichael was recognized for her outstanding academic performance and her passion for serving the community. Megan is on track to receive an Honors Diplomas a one of the school valedictorians. She donates hundreds of hours to volunteer for numerous community events and organizations such as Faith in Action, Toy & Joy, Girl Scouts, Medical Teams international, Key Club, the Fire Department pancake breakfast and Easter egg hunt, Special Olympics, Habitat for Humanity, 4H and Chehalem Park and Recreation. Megan plans to attend the University of Montana and study environment science.
