Teddy Roosevelt, The Rough Rider President, visited Newberg today, stopping by Chehalem Valley Middle School to talk with students. He shared stories about his days as the 26th President, creating the Panama Canal, his love for adventure and creation of our national park system. Perhaps most enjoyable to his middle school audience were the comments about his children’s antics while living in the White House.

The Teddy Roosevelt roadshow toured Oregon communities across the state this week and is sponsored by the Oregon Historical Society and Wells Fargo Bank. Actor Joe Wiegand is regarded as the nation’s premier Theodore Roosevelt impersonator.
