Volunteer Opportunities
Greetings,
It’s the second week of school and we are off and running! We’re looking forward to spending another great week with your children.
I’d like to take a moment to tell you about an opportunity to get more involved with your child’s education. Newberg Public Schools is looking for volunteers to join our ranks in serving our students. Are you are a parent, a grandparent, an aunt or uncle, a sibling or a friend of a school-aged student? Do you have a heart to serve children, and want to impact them in a positive way? If your answer is yes, this is the opportunity for you.
A couple of questions you might have about being a volunteer:
1. Is a COVID-19 vaccine required to volunteer? Newberg Public Schools follows state recommended guidelines when it comes to the COVID-19 vaccine. Although vaccines are still required, we are accepting religious and medical exemptions. Please reach out to my office at rennet@newberg.k12.or.us to request a form.
2. Is a background check required to volunteer? In an effort to keep all students and staff safe, a background check is required for every volunteer.
If you want more information regarding volunteer opportunities, or have any questions, please reach out to us at rennet@newberg.k12.or.us.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely,
Stephen W. Phillips, PhD
