EY Trout Hatching Project
Students in grades 4 and 5 participate annually in a science unit on trout and salmon.
During this unit of study, areas such as anatomy, life cycles, conservation, habitat, and important issues are explored. Students also gain hands on experience by raising trout from the egg stage to the fry stage in classroom incubators. During this project students participate in daily observations and water testing. The culuminating activity is releasing the trout fry in a nearby local pond. Click below for photos of past unit activities.
