Chehalem Cultural District

In 2009 the Camellia Day Festival was restarted.  The NHS Greenhouse Program has been involved from the beginning with growing camellias for sale and giveaways at the festival.  Many students volunteer at the event.  The greenhouse has a booth and also sells 3 gallon camellias.  This event is held annually in conjuction with the Oregon Camellia Society.

Many of the plants used at the Newberg Water Wise Garden were grown from seeds or cuttings by Greenhouse students at Newberg High School.  The Newberg Water Wise Garden continues to be an outdoor working classroom for the greenhouse classes.  Seed and cuttings are collected yearly and used by our students to create new plants for future plantings.  This garden is a nationally recognized and awarded garden in our city.
