Need help finding help? Information about social service resources in Yamhill County is now available by simply dialing 2-1-1. Operators can help you find food resources, health care, wade through public agencies, legal services, find employment resources, counseling or support, emergency housing and more.

2-1-1 telephone assistance is available in English, Spanish and Russian.  Yamhill 2-1-1 is a partnership between Yamhill County Commission on Children and Families and the United Way of the Mid-Willamette Valley.

Portland General Electric (PGE) has several ways customers can get assistance paying for heating costs, including payment plans.  PGE Financial Assistance

Northwest Natural, the main local natural gas provider, also has plans available for paying the gas bill or donate to provide assistance.  NW Natural Low Income Assistance

Emergency Shelter

YCAP offers a variety of assistance including a homeless shelter here in Newberg. You must go in person to their office and work with an intake person to receive assistance. They can assist with housing, employment, transportation, day care and medical needs. They also continue to work with you as you transition into permanent housing within the community.

Newberg-Dundee Youth Outreach "YO" is a drop-in center in Newberg where middle and high school-age youth can hang out, receive essential services and participate in positive activities free of charge. Youth Outreach is a program of Yamhill Community Action Partnership (YCAP) and all services are free.  

SafeShelter
YO has emergency shelter services for youth who have runaway or are homeless. The SafeShelter program will help homeless youth by placing them in a host home with the goal to get the youth back home again.
