On November 3, 2020, Newberg and Dundee voters passed a $141 million Construction Bond for Newberg Public Schools. We are incredibly grateful for this support, which over the next several years will allow us to construct a new elementary school in Dundee, remodel and expand Edwards Elementary School, completely renovate the Career and Technical Education (CTE) facility at Newberg High School, expand Catalyst Alternative High School, improve access, update classrooms, and perform important maintenance at all schools in the district

What's next?

BRIC Architecture is leading us through the design process. We want to engage YOU, so that our community helps us create an equitable vision for the Bond Projects. The first step was a series of Zoom meeting, gathering input from students, staff, families, community, and industry partners (see the 16 sessions we held here).

The next step is to form design committees for each school. These committees will carefully reflect on all the feedback from the community input sessions, and make sure the designs match what our community goals are. We would love for you to participate! You can find more information here (English and Spanish), and you can use this form to show your interest in serving. 

History

Throughout the fall of 2019 and the spring of 2020, the district gathered a variety of community stakeholders in a Bond Development Committee. This work was facilitated by BRIC Architecture, and led to the Newberg School Board placing the bond on the November 2020 ballot. The final project list was carefully developed after previous work on a Long Range Facilities plan, created throughoutthe spring and summer of 2018. Mahlum Architects facilitated those meetings, which resulted in a final draft of a Long Range Facilities Plan. On June 4, 2019, the committee had the chance to give feedback on the plan to the district.
